Dear devotees,

Ashkath Shiva - Vishnu temple is situated in Palakkad district near Koottanad and Nanthiamcode Homamangalam alias Kongalath temple. The worshipping deity of the people of Ashkath mana(residence of Brahmins) Vishnu and Mahadevan, the Lord of Nanthiamcode Desam(village) dwell together within the same temple compound. The peculiarity of this temple is that there are no other sub(minor) Gods here.

Long ago the people of Ashkath illam(abode of Brahmins) fled from here and gradually the daily activities of the temple had been hindered and for about sixty years nobody cared for this temple, and it became in the possession of other people. In 2013 some great men of this country tried to renovate this temple; but failed. It is only by the grace of God that the daily offerings could be done without interruption. In 2021 again the devotees of this village got together and started the renovation activities. The renovation works of which the expenditure estimated more than 1crore rupees have been decided to be done in three phases.

In the first phase two Sanctum-sanctorums(sreekovils) should be constructed in black stone (Krishna sila). The estimated expenditure for this work is about 40 lakhs. The installation of the deities is expected to be done after being completed in 2023.

In the second phase temple compound wall gate, watch shed, temple kitchen etc. should be constructed and be engaged in the efforts to complete all the parts of the temple.

In the third phase the temple yard and the office room should be constructed. After being completed all the works the temple should be presented to the devotees with the renovation ceremony of the purification of the idols(Naveekarana kalasam). We approach the devotees with perfect faith that by the grace of God and the wholehearted co-operation of the devotees, the renovation can be completed in 2024.
